Traveling Man Treasures is selling this patinated and gilt spelter sculpture of a cherub, also known as a "Child Musician". The sculpture depicts a young, chubby child with a drape over one hip, holding a small flute in its lap. By observing the base, the piece was most likely a topper for a larger item, however the piece stands alone nicely and easily sits balanced upright. The wear and patina is commensurate with a 1920s-1930s piece.
The cherub is in the style of Auguste Moreau, a French sculptor from the celebrated Moreau family of artists.
